This Autumn we present a stunning new afternoon tea menu inspired by the beautiful gardens at the recently-restored Killarney House.
Once home to the Earls of Kenmare and just a stone’s throw from our front door, the 18th century Killarney House and its flourishing gardens will officially reopen this autumn following the recent careful restorations that have reignited it to its former glory.
To celebrate, the expert pastry chefs at The Killarney Park Hotel have created a new, uniquely delicious afternoon tea menu
in honour of this neighbouring local treasure.
Tier one, boasts delicate finger sandwiches with classic recipes, championing fresh, local produce including roast beef on grilled ciabatta with red onion marmalade, crabmeat salad on toasted brioche with salmon caviar, horseradish prawn cocktail with Avruga caviar, classic egg and cucumber on white toast, and home baked honey, mustard and clove ham with Emmental cheese and red onion marmalade.
Tier two is a sweet-tooth’s dream come true with beautiful, blossom themed patisseries and cakes. Be transported to the pretty surrounds of the Killarney House gardens with fragrant bites including lavender and poppyseed macaroons, rosemary and Killarney honey savarin with lemon cream, pistachio and cherry blossom choux chocolate, and caramel and passion fruit tart.
What afternoon tea is complete without warm, freshly baked scones? Enjoy a third-tier scone selection of fruit and plain scones, straight from the oven and served with fresh Kerry clotted cream, sweet strawberry preserves and lemon curd.
With a nod to Killarney House’s colourful gardens, guests can enjoy the luxurious Ronnefelt brand of uniquely fruity and floral tea selections. For something more luxurious and bubblier, add an accompanying glass of Champagne.
