At The Killarney Park, we believe that even small steps can lead to lasting, meaningful change. The Killarney Coffee Cup Project is our way of reducing single-use waste and inspiring our community to rethink convenience culture.

We are proud to have pioneered this initiative as part of our ongoing sustainability commitment, in partnership with our sister property, The Ross, and fellow members of the Killarney Hotels Sustainability Group.

How It Works

The idea is simple but powerful:

• Bring your own reusable coffee cup
• Enjoy your coffee sitting in
• Pay a €2 deposit for a reusable cup, returnable at any participating café in Killarney
• Purchase your own Killarney Park reusable coffee cup, available at our hotel reception
• Each small act contributes to a bigger positive impact across our town and National Park.

Why We Launched It

Killarney’s natural beauty is priceless, but disposable coffee cup waste was becoming an issue across the town and National Park trails.

We created the Killarney Coffee Cup Project to:

• Reduce single-use cup waste across Killarney
• Encourage locals and visitors to rethink their habits
• Show how luxury hospitality and sustainability go hand-in-hand

The Results So Far

Since launching:

• Thousands of reusable cups have been sold and are now in active use
• Local cafés, restaurants and hotels have embraced the initiative
• We’ve prevented tens of thousands of single-use cups from entering landfill or nature

More importantly, we’ve inspired participation and awareness in both our guests and our community.
