Private tour of the O’Connell ancestry household
Come and spend a few hours with Maurice in the O’Connell ancestry household which has been part of the O’Connell family for over 900 years set in on the edge of Lough Lein looking toward the McGillicuddy Reeks. Maurice will explain his family’s history and of course his rather famous relative Daniel O’Connell, known as ‘The Liberator’. Often proclaimed Ireland’s greatest son, he achieved revolutionary change for his fellow Irishmen but insisted on using peaceful means only. Maurice will showcase his family’s small batch whiskey in his onsite distillery located on the estates’ outhouses as you pass barley fields that play a pivotal part in the whiskey making process.
