Few Minutes from the Celebrated Lakes of Killarney
The Killarney Park Hotel is just a short distance from the celebrated Lakes of Killarney, and what better way to see them than on one of the lakes itself? Experience the fun of Kayaking with professional expertise and instruction at Ross Castle (generally during the summer months) around Loch Lein (the Lower Lake) at your leisure, taking in the lunar limestone formations on the lakeshore and the historic monastic settlement on the island of Innisfallen. Please contact our Concierge Team for booking any of these activites with our preffered Supplier Guides.
Even if you’ve never kayaked before, you’ll take to it like a duck to water, as instructors provide brief but comprehensive training before you head out on the lake, and they remain with you on the water, offering guidance and instruction. Surf among the swans, ducks and other water birds and enjoy the fantastic views on offer through Stand Up Paddle Surfing (SUP) with your informative guide.
If you prefer your water sports on the sea, there are two superb beaches within a 40-minute drive of the Killarney Park Hotel. Inch Beach, on the Dingle Peninsula is renowned for surfing, as well as kite surfing and windsurfing. Rossbeigh, just off the Ring of Kerry, faces Inch across the Atlantic, and is an excellent spot for sea kayaking and horse riding along the beachfront. Other fine surfing spots include Maharees on the Dingle Peninsula and Ballybunion and Banna in North Kerry.
You can hire equipment and avail of training at most surfing beaches. Ask our Concierge Team for advice on where to go for your chosen Water Sports.
