Touring The Wild Atlantic Way
~ From the Ring of Kerry to the Gap of Dunloe ~
One of the many reasons our guests choose the Killarney Park as the base for their exploration of southern Ireland is that it is convenient for so many classic tours. From the Ring of Kerry to the Gap of Dunloe and Dingle to the Beara Peninsula, Killarney is within easy reach of many of the most popular destinations in Ireland. Discuss with our concierge to discover just what array of Activities, guided and self-drive tours are available right on our doorstep.
Killarney is the principal town on the Ring of Kerry, a 180km loop around the Iveragh Peninsula designed to be driven in an anti-clockwise direction. Other towns on the route include Kenmare, Sneem, Waterville, Cahersiveen and Killorglin, with Ladies' View, Daniel “The Liberator” O’Connell’s Derrynane House, the Gap of Dunloe, and views of the monastic Skellig Michael among the many highlights of the trip. Choose to drive the route yourself or take a guided tour from the town.
Other tours you can take in during a scenery-filled day include the Gap of Dunloe, which can incorporate a jaunting car ride and boat trip if you choose the organised version. Head west to the Dingle Peninsula or east to West Cork. Whichever tour you choose, you will return to your Killarney hotel room with a renewed appreciation of the beauty of this world.
