Cycling in Killarney
Unforgettable Scenery You'll Never Forget
When you stay at the Killarney Park Hotel, you have a variety of ways to get around and see the incredible scenery. If you want to take a break from the car, try two wheels instead. Being the ideal base for the ever-popular annual Ring of Kerry charity cycle, Killarney and the surrounding areas are ideal for touring by bicycle.
Whether you want to hire a bike in Killarney town and wheel along the designated path to Muckross Gardens, or cocoon yourself in lycra and hit the open road for the day, we are happy to advise on the best cycle route for you.
If you’re in the mood for a challenging 54km bike ride, set out for Kate Kearney’s Cottage in Beaufort and cycle through the Gap of Dunloe, a dramatic gorge carved in the last Ice Age, where you will encounter little traffic for some stretches, and peace and tranquility at stages. Some of the sections are pretty steep but the climb is really worth it for the unforgettable scenery.
Head home to the Killarney Park Hotel after an invigorating day out in the open air and enjoy a soak in the hot tub, a hearty meal in the Park Restaurant or the Garden Bar, and a well-earned rest amongst the deep pillows and crisp sheets of your luxurious guest room or suite.
